Today during lunchtime, S & me originally planned to go to The Icon for lunch then head to Gelare for my fav float. On the way there through Amara Hotel, as we stepped in, we saw a small crowd of people a little distance away from a man lying comatose on the floor. He had passed out and the passersby didn't seem to dare to approach him nor know what to do, until finally, a man stepped out to try to wake the unconscious man.
An Ang Mo guy came forward with a chair with which to prop the unconscious man's legs on, and another lady appeared with a cup of water (and not knowing what to do with it) which a third man took and sprinkled some water on his face...(I noticed the Ang Mo guy slapping the comatose man's cheek seemingly quite hard!!)
I stepped closer upon the realisation that he didn't seem to respond when the first man tried to shake him and wake him up, and I immediately took out my phone to dial for an ambulance (one lady suggested calling the hotel management to call the ambulance which, I'm glad whose advice I didn't follow)...there were some difficulty in trying to wake the unconscious man which I felt seemed not a very good sign, and I left the ambulance order standing (initially I thought of cancelling it when the man awakened, but decided against it when he seemed in a daze and none too responsive)...
I'm glad I quickly called the ambulance when I did becos the ambulance took some 15 mins to arrive; they did some checks on him and then wheeled the now-conscious man away...luckily the man didn't seemed in too serious a condition for, judging by the time the ambulance take to arrive, could've cost a precious life...
Anywayz, I'm glad to have done a little good deed today...(" ,)
